A grande remise house in Paris

Grand Paris Transport carries on the Parisian art of the grande remise: an exceptional car and a career chauffeur, reserved in advance for your exclusive use. Our offices are at 60 rue François 1er, in the Golden Triangle of the 8th arrondissement, a few steps from the houses and hotels we serve every day.

Our promise rests on three commitments. The car is held for you and for no one else, from the first kilometre to the last. The price is agreed before departure and confirmed in writing: our rate card is published, with no last-minute variation. And the chauffeur who presents himself is a professional in a suit, trained in hospitality and discretion, as familiar with the private entrances of the grand hotels as with the arrivals halls of the terminals.

The standard that defines our service

The heritage of the grande remise

The French word remise once named the coach house where a family's carriages were kept. The great Parisian remises hired out those equipages together with their coachman, to order, for families and travellers passing through — and then, when the motor car arrived, limousines together with their chauffeur. The term has crossed the century keeping its original sense: a car of distinction, a professional at the wheel, and a reservation settled in advance.

In 2009 the grande remise licence was folded into the French chauffeured-tourism-car regime, which became in 2014 the voiture de transport avec chauffeur. We therefore operate under that framework, entered on the national register under number EVTC075250055 — and we keep the spirit the name was built on: the order placed ahead, the price settled, the car reserved for one house at a time.

Frequently asked questions

What does grande remise mean?

Grande remise is the French tradition of the chauffeured town car: a car of distinction and a career chauffeur reserved in advance, for exclusive use and at a price settled before departure. The licence was folded in 2009 into the chauffeured-tourism-car regime, which became the voiture de transport avec chauffeur. Grand Paris Transport operates under that framework, entered on the national register under number EVTC075250055, and keeps the spirit the name was built on.

How far ahead should I reserve?

Twenty-four hours is enough for everything to be arranged calmly, and we regularly accommodate same-day requests subject to the availability of our cars. For a wedding, a delegation or a cortège of several vehicles, write to us earlier: it is the availability of chauffeurs and cars that gets reserved, never the price that changes.

What do your services start from?

From €70 excl. VAT for a journey within Paris, from €90 excl. VAT for a transfer to Paris-Charles de Gaulle or Orly in a saloon, and from €65 excl. VAT per hour for hourly hire (€75 excl. VAT per hour in a van). Every journey is confirmed in writing at a firm price. The full rate card is on our prices page.

How does a meet and greet work at an airport or station?

We track your flight or train and adjust the pickup time if it is delayed. Your chauffeur waits for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name, takes your luggage and walks you to the car parked as close as possible. Sixty minutes of waiting are included on a flight arrival, thirty minutes on a train arrival.

Which languages do your chauffeurs speak?

French and English, since welcoming international clients at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Orly is a substantial part of what we do. Mention any other language requirement when you reserve and we will assign the chauffeur accordingly wherever possible.

How do you guarantee discretion?

Confidentiality is part of the craft. Our chauffeurs never comment on the identity, the conversations or the destinations of our passengers, no journey data is passed to third parties, and we are glad to sign the confidentiality undertakings our corporate clients ask for.

Do you offer corporate accounts?

Yes. For regular volume we open an account with consolidated monthly billing, negotiated rates and a single point of contact. Write to contact@grandparistransport.com describing your usual journeys and how often you travel.
