A chauffeur and a car reserved for you

Hourly chauffeur hire is the opposite of a transfer: instead of buying a journey from A to B, you reserve a chauffeur and a vehicle for a length of time. During those hours the car is yours. You move from appointment to appointment, leave your belongings on board, change the plan halfway through, and the price does not move: €65 excl. VAT per hour in a premium sedan, €75 excl. VAT per hour in a premium van.

It is the option chosen by business travellers with three meetings in a day, families visiting Paris with young children, film and production crews, and guests who land at Charles de Gaulle in the morning and fly out the same evening without going to a hotel. As soon as your day involves three journeys or more, hourly hire costs less than the sum of separate rides — and it saves you the wait between each one.

Prices exclude VAT; the 20% rate applicable to chauffeur hire is added at checkout. The hourly rate is linear — there is no hidden minimum package and no sliding scale, so one more hour costs €65 in a sedan and €75 in a van. Hours run from the agreed pick-up time to the end of the booking, including the periods when the vehicle is waiting for you. For an itinerary that leaves the Paris region, a full-day excursion fare is often better value: see our prices page.

How hourly hire works

  1. You give the time slotPick-up time and address, number of hours, number of passengers. A detailed programme is not required — you can improvise on the day.
  2. The price is confirmed before the journeyNumber of hours × hourly rate, VAT included. No booking fee, no zone surcharge within Paris and its inner suburbs.
  3. Your chauffeur arrives at the agreed addressHe calls or texts you 15 minutes ahead. He knows the booked slot and stays reachable throughout.
  4. You run the dayYou give the addresses as the hours go by. The chauffeur parks and waits during your meetings, visits or meals — waiting is already in the price.
  5. Extend on requestIf the day runs long, tell the chauffeur: each extra hour is charged at the same hourly rate, with no last-minute premium.

When hourly hire is the right choice

A business day in Paris. An investor roadshow, a run of client meetings at La Défense and then in the 8th arrondissement, a lunch that overruns: the car follows you, your files stay on board, and you do not lose ten minutes ordering a ride between stops. Our chauffeurs know the entrances of head offices and office-building car parks.

Seeing Paris at your own pace. With children, elderly parents, or simply no wish to rush, an hourly chauffeur replaces six métro journeys. Our Classic Paris (3 h) and Montmartre (2 h) packages are ready-made themed versions of the same idea; hourly hire lets you build your own route instead.

An event. A wedding, a conference, a gala dinner, an incoming delegation: hourly hire keeps the same vehicle and the same chauffeur all day, with return trips between hotel and venue. For several vehicles or several days, the tailored quote prices the whole programme at once.

A long layover. If you have eight hours between two flights at CDG or Orly, a sedan for the half day shows you Paris and brings you back to the terminal on time, with your luggage still in the boot.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an hourly chauffeur in Paris cost?

€65 excluding VAT per hour in a premium sedan for up to 3 passengers, and €75 excluding VAT per hour in a premium van for up to 8 passengers. The 20% VAT is added at checkout, so €78 and €90 per hour including VAT. Fuel, tolls and parking are covered.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

One hour is enough. There is no three- or four-hour minimum package as many chauffeur companies impose, and no sliding scale either: you pay exactly the hours you book.

Is mileage limited during hourly hire?

No limit within Paris and the Île-de-France region — only hours are counted. For a journey that leaves the region, such as Reims, Deauville or the Loire Valley, a full-day excursion fare is usually cheaper and already includes the hours spent waiting on site.

Can I extend on the spot if my day runs long?

Yes, provided the chauffeur has no engagement immediately afterwards. Tell him as early as you can: each extra hour is charged at the same hourly rate, with no last-minute premium.

Does the chauffeur stay with the car during my meetings?

Yes. He parks as close as possible, stays reachable by phone, and pulls up when you call. You can leave luggage, files or shopping in the vehicle between stops; parking charges are already included in the hour.

Do I have to give the full programme when booking?

No. Only the pick-up time and address are needed. You can give the addresses as the day unfolds. If you already know your itinerary, sharing it simply lets the chauffeur plan parking and traffic.

Is hourly hire cheaper than several separate transfers?

From three journeys in the same day, almost always. Four hours in a sedan costs €260 excluding VAT with unlimited stops, whereas four separate rides across Paris easily reach the same amount — without the waiting time or the guarantee that a car is free when you need it.

Can I book several vehicles or several days?

Yes. For a group larger than 8 passengers or a booking over consecutive days, use the tailored quote or call +33 6 04 51 06 57: we price the fleet required and keep the same chauffeur across the period.
